Wilson High School student arrested for coming to school with a gun

Woodrow Wilson High School experienced a temporary lockdown today, on December 8th, as a teenager was arrested for allegedly carrying a firearm on the school premises. Authorities are currently looking into the incident, which raised concerns within the school community and among parents.

What Happened to?

According to the Long Beach Police, officers responded to a report of a teen in possession of a firearm around 10:50 a.m.

“When officers arrived, the suspect was already detained by the LBUSD (Long Beach Unified School District) school-safety personnel,” the police stated.

It remains unclear whether the teenager is a student at the school. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 12:45 p.m., and the identity and age of the suspect have not been disclosed.

Police confirmed that the firearm was seized. The motive behind why the teen had a firearm on school grounds is currently unknown. This incident has understandably caused unease within the school community and among parents.
