Mike Mathis Obituary-Death News; Longtime Rodeo Announcer, Mike Mathis Passes Away Tragically

on Wednesday, a horrible death occurred involving a longstanding announcer for rodeos. Over the course of more than twenty-five years, Mike Mathis served as the speaker at the Dixie National Rodeo.

The rodeo community has reported that Mike Mathis passed away unexpectedly this morning as a result of a medical-related issue. A well-known and well-liked member of the town, the cowboy was a revered figure in the neighborhood.

The unfortunate event was announced by Commissioner Andy Gipson in a letter that read, “With great sadness, I learned this morning that my good friend, the one and only Mike Mathis, passed away and went to be with the Lord.

” A number of people of the community have posted homage to his memory on their respective social media profiles on their respective platforms.

Wow, today the world has lost one of the most talented announcers in the history of rodeo. May Mike Mathis rest in peace!!! An unmistakable voice could be heard in each and every town and city in which he was at the time operating.

Here in Lafayette, Louisiana, we shall miss having him around. He was an excellent companion. Praying for Mrs. Shan and her family at this time. Onward and upward, cowboys!

The PRCA ProRodeo has been a significant part of Mike’s life, and he has worn many hats! He has served as the head of the PRCA rodeo committee, a member of the PRCA executive council, a member of the PRCA Board of Directors, and he has also been an announcer for the PRCA rodeo! There will be a void in our lives caused by his absence.
